Terms of service

These terms cover use of the JourneyPing website and service. Customers who have signed an order form and its accompanying agreement are governed by that agreement; where the two differ, the signed agreement wins.

What the service does

JourneyPing checks websites you are entitled to monitor. It requests pages, and for some checks renders them in a real browser and performs a sequence of actions, to establish whether the flows on the site still work. It produces alerts, evidence of failures, and reports you can share with whoever needs to see them.

Checks run from outside the monitored site. Nothing is installed on it and no code is added to it.

Getting an account

There is no self-service signup. Accounts are created by us after a conversation, and plans are arranged and invoiced directly. No card details are stored in the application and plan changes are made by us on request.

What you are responsible for

• Being entitled to monitor the sites you add. Before a site is scheduled you must prove control of the domain, by publishing a file, adding a meta tag or returning a header from an API endpoint. Monitoring a site you have no relationship with is not permitted.
• What your checks do. You configure which flows are exercised. By default a journey stops before completing an action. It will not place an order or confirm a booking. If you ask for a check that completes an action, the consequences on the monitored site are yours.
• Your account and your team. Seats are for people in your organisation. You are responsible for what the members you invite do with the data in your workspace.
• Not overloading anything. Checks are rate-limited and back off when a site refuses them. Attempting to use the service for load testing, scraping at volume, or against infrastructure you do not control is a breach of these terms.

Plans, usage and billing

Each plan includes a number of sites, browser runs, seats and a retention period for failure recordings. Uptime checks can run as often as every minute on any plan, within the monthly uptime run allowance included with your plan.

On Pro and Enterprise, browser runs beyond the included allowance continue and are invoiced at the plan’s overage rate. On Basic, browser runs stop at the allowance instead, so it cannot generate an unexpected invoice. Current prices, allowances and overage rates are on the pricing page.

What is not promised

Being plain about this rather than burying it: JourneyPing is provided as it is. There is no service level agreement, no uptime guarantee and no guaranteed support response time. We hold no security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.

Monitoring reduces the time between something breaking and you knowing about it. It does not prevent failures, and no monitoring system detects every failure. Nothing here should be read as a warranty that a monitored site will work, or that every problem with it will be found.

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost revenue, lost business or lost data. That exclusion is the important one for a monitoring product: the loss you would claim for is revenue from an outage we did not catch, and this says plainly that it is not covered.

Also to the extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms, the service and this website is limited to the fees paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Your data

Monitoring results, evidence and reports belong to you. The software and the service itself remain ours. What we collect and how it is handled is set out in the privacy policy. On request we will delete your account and its data within 30 days, except records we are required to keep for accounting purposes.

Where we process personal data on your behalf, which is what monitoring a website involves, our data processing agreement applies and forms part of these terms.

Ending it

You can stop at any time by telling us; billing stops at the end of the current term. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, and will say why.

Changes and governing law

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and account holders are told before the change takes effect. Prices may change with 30 days’ notice, taking effect at your next renewal rather than mid-term.

These terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes belong to the Swedish courts. JourneyPing is offered to businesses and accounts are not made available to consumers. If you are nonetheless a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the law where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.
